This is an audio narration of the book review, “Strong Medicine for a Fatal Disease | Social Justice, Critical Race Theory & the Gospel”

The issue of racism has come to the fore more and more in recent years. With the death of George Floyd, we saw an eruption of mass protests, demonstrations, and even riots break out all over the U.S. Many different voices have expressed differing opinions about the issue. However, one of the ideologies that have come to the forefront is that of Critical Race Theory. Some Christians believe that it can be a helpful “analytical tool”. However, is it really that innocent? In Dr. Baucham’s book, he analyzes the issues and applies solid, biblical theology to the topic to analyze the roots and merits of Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality. He also points out some of the dangers of movements like Black Lives Matter and how Christians are sometimes carried away with errant teachings on this topic.

His book is a clarion call and strong medicine for what Dr. Baucham diagnoses as a fatal disease. It is well worth the read and a needed challenge to a lot of the prevailing narratives and ideologies of our day. I hope that this book review will be helpful and perhaps inspire you to pick up a copy of Dr. Voddie Baucham Jr’s book, “Fault Lines: The Social Justice Movement and Evangelicalism’s Looming Catastrophe”.
